Founded in 1967, Thomas Grady Service Center is now in its 58th year of serving individuals with developmental disabilities. The organization began with a simple yet powerful vision — created by parents who were looking for a place where their children, who, because of having a developmental disability, could not attend public schools, could spend a quality day. Children with developmental disabilities in Georgia gained true access to public education only after the passage of the Education for All Handicapped Children Act (Public Law 94-142) in November 1975.
